Robinwood

Hilderthorpe Junior School Residential

Unfortunately Sutherland Lodge outdoor activity centre in the North York Moors has informed Schools that they will close in November of this year. This means that we cannot go there next summer. We have had to find an alternative centre for our planned Y6 residential visit. At this late stage there is limited choice of centres or available bookings. After considerable research I have been able to locate a centre called Robinwood. This centre is highly recommended by other schools who have visited it. There will be some changes in the way which this visit is organised and funded .
We are planning a three-day residential visit for Year Six children at Robinwood outdoor activity centre at Todmorden in the Pennines.

The visit is planned for 8-00am Friday June 13 to 6-00pm Sunday June15 2008.
Robinwood Outdoor Activities centre is based in a converted school with added dormitories which can sleep 84 children. The centre has been open since 1994. It is fully licensed in accordance with all current safety requirements and has been used successfully by other schools for a number of years. It is fully equipped and staffed to provide adventure activities for young people. The children will not need any specialist equipment as this is all provided by the centre. The centre leader recommends old clothes!
The children will be based at the centre for the weekend. They will not have to prepare any meals. All meals will be provided. Children will sleep in separate dormitories for boys and girls.
